I couldn't believe the school year was coming to an end. The kids LOVED all their teachers. We had such a great year at Mesquite. Mrs. Mendoza, the best 2nd grade teacher there is!!!

Our Trip to San Diego

We decided after 12 years of marriage it was time we got away on our own. We had grand plans to begin with but due to cost and time we decided to spend 5 days in San Diego. Jeremy has never been there and I haven't been since I was a little kid, so we were both excited. We had a blast, we went to Sea World, Old Town San Diego, Took a Sailboat tour out into the bay, ate a fabulous dinner in the Lamp Light district, and finished with a day at the Wild Animal Park. We had so much fun. Next time, we might have to bring the kids. I have to give a big THANK YOU to Auntie Tara who flew here and was willing to take care of the kidos while we had fun.

The kids school had a talent show this year. They had to practice once a week for 6 weeks to be able to perform . They were all excited to strut their stuff. They were chosen to perform for the Adults in the evening and also for the students at a special assembly.

Benjamin wanted to show off his Tae Kwon Do talents so we choreographed some moves to the "Eye of the Tiger"

Olivia performed her dance that she learned this year for her dance recital it was to Little Mermaid "Kiss the Girl"

They all worked so hard and did such a great job! I was really proud of them.

Sam's Spa Birthday (April 24th)

Samantha is really at the age that she loves big girl things, so we decided to have a Spa themed party. It included facials, pedi, mani, and spa gift bag for all the girls!

My Friend Gina, and her two girls Lauren (14) Rachel (12) were nice enough to come help me paper these girls!

Comfy clothes were a must at this party.

Tae Kwon Do

For those of you who don't know. I signed Bejamin up for Tae Kwon Do. He did some Karate at the YMCA in St. Louis and loved it, so I wanted to make sure he was signed up for a great program here. We found a fantastic studio in the same strip that the girls have dance so, it helps with the driving back and forth. He is on a three year track to make black belt. It's pretty demanding but it has been so good for him. This is Benjamin at his graduation ceremony receiving his green belt.

Our Natural Eggs

I purchased this all natural egg dying kit from my produce co-op because I thought it would be a neat experience. I wasn't sure what it would come with. What it came with was a bag of various produce, no instructions or anything. So I looked on line to try and get an idea of what to do. Basically you boil down the produce until you get a die and then color your eggs. I wasn't' sure how it would all turn out but I thought at least it would make for a good science experiment for the kids.

The eggs weren't the most vibrant color but they were colored, the best color producers where the beets, blueberries, and Onion skin.

It was a lot of extra work and a lot of extra mess but it was good fun! I think next year I might switch back to the kits.

Samantha was so excited to finally perform her class musical performance. She loved all the fun songs about what to be when you grow up. Every time she had music she would come home singing the new songs she had learned that day. By the night of the performance I felt I knew all the songs too. Hieroglyphic Trail (Feb. 2010)

We decided to get out this weekend and enjoy the beautiful 70 degree weather. The last time we hiked this trail it was practically dry. We had a very rainy January this year so when we got to the top of the trail we were met with cool running water.

I can't believe we are hiking in February!

To help our kids adjust to the Arizona winters we decided to take a break from our 70 degree weather and head up into the mountains. We rented a small cabin for the weekend so they kids could have plenty of opportunities to play in the snow. This is just out side our cabin. The kids loved building snow forts and having snowball fights. Then it was time to come in for some hot chocolate.

Not too far a drive was a great sledding hill. The kids had a blast going up and down up and down all morning.

Yep us old folks did our share of sledding as well.

We decided to grab a couple of friends to experience some winter fun. Okay so, in AZ you have to be a little more creative. Polar Ice indoor ice skating rink was our best option for the day!

This was Benjamin and Olivia's first time ice skating. They both did a great job. Olivia was the slow and steady type falling only a few times. Benjamin opted for the no help plow a head full steam. He fell a bit more often but still had fun.

Old Tucson Studios

Being out in AZ we had to give my parents a taste of the old south west. So, we took a day trip down to Old Tucson Studios. It's a recreated old fashioned western town that they have used to make westerns over the last 40 years or so. They have historical sites, and great little reinactments.

I think I need one of these in our home a perfect time out spot!!

As soon as they decided they were coming out for Christmas Papa talked about having to go to Pinnacle Peak.
It was a restaurant that his family went to when they lived here 30 years ago. He had memories of the ties and them making the best steaks ever! So of course we had to find this place and give it a try.

This is what they sever you if you ask for your steak well done!

They also staple business cards all over the walls and rails.

You can't visit AZ and not do some hiking. So we headed up South Mountain to Fat Man's Pass.

There is a great spot where the rocks come together to form a perfect slide!

Wed. morning we got up bright and early went to the house to pick up Lucy and said good bye to our home of the last four year and hit the road. We were making great time going 6 hours before finally stopping for gas in Junction city Kansas. It was then that we realized our newly replaced serpentine belt had fallen off it's track and we were going now where. After a 4 1/2 hours and way too much time at the local Wal-mart we were back on the road. We finally arrived in Colorado Springs at 1 am tired and grateful to be there.

On Thursday we had to spend the morning waiting on a notary to come to the hotel so we could sign our closing papers. After lunch we went to check out the Beautiful Garden of the Gods. The kids loved being able to climb up and down on the rock formations.

On Friday we drove to Santa Fe, New Mexico. It was about a five hour drive from Colorado Springs. We checked into our hotel and then headed down town to see some of the old buildings and enjoy some great Southwestern Food.

On Saturday morning we headed out to Bandelier National Park to check out the Native American Cliff Dwellings.

In the afternoon we took the kids to a living museum. A 1800's Spanish Ranch.

On Sunday we were up bright and early again to make the final 7 1/2 hour drive in to Phoenix. The kids were so excited to see their new city and new home. We get the keys to the house tomorrow and the truck comes on Tuesday. More pic's to come after things get settled down. All in all it was a great trip and I am glad we did it! Time to get back to work.

After months of Olivia telling me she wasn't afraid of Butterflies (she is terrified of all insects) we decided to take her back to the Butterfly house. We thought her birthday would be a great opportunity to go so I piled up the van with her and four of her little friends. She had a great time and ended up only being a little afraid. As long as they weren't near her she was okay. Happy 5TH birthday Olivia!

I've need to do this project ever since we moved into the house, but being willing to sacrifice your only tub/shower with three small kids and managing to find the time and the money it never seemed to work out. Now that we are putting our house on the market it had to be done.

It seemed simple enough. but for any of you who have ventured into the world of home remodeling it never is as simple as it seems.

Three days later with a new wall,a new tub toilet, sink, vanity, towel bar, lighting, subfloor, flooring, and a fresh coat of paint. We were finally done!

I give great thanks to Doug (my brother-in-law) and his back up help Mike (a professional plumber) who really did most of the work. Thanks!

Karate

Benjamin started taking Karate, last September and is loving it. In January he moved up to the big kid class. He is one of the smallest. So far he's been thrown into a wall, punched in the nose and knocked down more than a few times. It's a little tough to watch as a mom but it is great to see my little man learning how to take it like a "black belt"

All the kids were really excited about Christmas this year! We watched all our favorite movies and read all our stories each night. The time had finally come!

Every opened and then tried on thier new jammies!

Christmas morning was filled with fun and excitement! Benjamin loved getting his new DS! Finally he won't have to borrow his sisters anymore.

The kids all loved the gifts from everyone. It was a very technology filled day with ds games, wii games, and vetch game. This is what I ended up with for the rest of the day!

So we tried to visit Santa again this year. There is an turn of the century house in St louis that host him every year. They take you into one room for a cute little puppet show. Then to see Santa followed by a trip to the kitchen to get a cookie from Mrs. Claus. It's all very cute except last year Olivia wanted nothing to do with it. This year was a little different. Olivia LOVED the puppet show in fact she giggled through the whole thing. Santa on the other hand she still wasn't too sure about. I did manage to get her to sit on his lap and produce a forced smile for the camamra. Oh well there is always next year.

The kids had a great Halloween this year. They were all really excited about their costumes! With parties at everyone's schools, and trick-or-treating. It was a full and busy day for Mommy!

For all of you who didn't know we spent last weekend in Corpus Christi Texas. Jeremy had a job interview and they were willing to fly the whole family out to check out the town.
It was a great trip they sure know how to spoil us. They put us up in a beautiful hotel by the bay, and treated us to great food and great fun. Jeremy had to do the hard part while the kids and I had fun. We got to tour the USS Lexington a WW II air craft carrier, the Texas state aquarium, and spend an afternoon at the beach. (85 degrees in October) it was a beautiful city! I think we were all sad to come home to our freezing temperatures!

In the fall and in the Spring we try and take the time to enjoy the outdoors. It's nice to be able to hike with the kids and I'm finally not carrying anyone on my back. Saturday was beautiful weather in the upper 60's with sunny skies. We enjoyed a nice hike at a local state park. I know it's not the Rockies but it's still pretty.

Preschool is back

Ever since the year was over she has be asking every week when she gets to go back.
Samantha and Benjamin started school a week and a half ago and there has been nothing else on her mind.
The day has finally arrived!
It's the first day of Preschool!!

This is her second year at the YMCA preschool so she felt right at home.

It's no surprise after saying hello to all her teachers Olivia headed strait for the dollhouse, right now she is all girl!

I hang around with all the other mom's pretending that my child somehow wants or needs me there but, Ms. Katie calls for circle time to start and that's my cue to head out. My new session at work doesn't start until next week I actually have time to myself. See ya at Noon!

Labor Day

Since Jeremy ditched us for the weekend to fly out to Boise. I decided I would make the best of the weekend and try and have some fun with the kids We decided to check out some fun free stuff in St. Louis. We started out with a hike at our local nature preserve Powder valley. It has a great visitor center with fun activities for the kids and some pretty and simple hikes.

We then decided to go to the Turtle Park. It is a park with giant turtle sculptures that you can climb and play on. The kids thought it was great. We have been there once before but it has been almost three years now, so it was new to them. They had a great time pretending, and jumping and climbing on all those turtles.

Olivia's favorite part was to sit on this Turtle and stare at the cars rushing by on the free way. She was so mesmerized she didn't want to leave.

Fill in the blanks with movies, dinners out, shopping, and an afternoon at the Speed Zone. I wasn't surprised when Olivia cried this morning that Grandma was leaving, there was so much spoiling going on. It was a great week, I think everyone had a good time, and I am sure we all need a good nap!

Here is a picture of Olivia at her Birthday Party. We met at a park by the a local pool, played a while, had lunch did the presents and cake thing, and then hit the pool. We had to take a picture of her Strawbery shortcake cake which was a must have ever since I ordered Benjamin's birthday cake and she saw this one in the book. She was so excited to finally get one. She then took two bites and wanted to go play. Oh well it's all about the photo ops anyway. Okay so did you notice a difference in my little Olivia. Well I decided I should give you a better picture to go by.

See that, all my little one' long hair is gone. She begged me the morning of her party to get her hair cut short. I think we were both tired of hearing her cry every time I had to brush it. So, I gave in. Doesn't she look so big!

I can't believe my baby is 4 years old! I guess she is definitely not a baby any more. Olivia was so excited about her birthday this year. Every since Benjamin's (June 6th) she has really been looking forward to it. She asked me almost daily when her Birthday was, or if it was July yet and she repeatedly reminded me that I needed to get her presents. She was truly thrilled with everything she received.

The Fourth of July

The forth of July was a great day! JaNae and Doug took us to a Stake Park Shut-in. It is where a river or creek comes down through the rocks creating some natural water slides and great little swimming holes. It was not wonderfully not crowed for the 4th. The kids had a blast. Even little Aubrey enjoyed splashing around.

We ended the evening with a great fireworks display put on by Park Hills.
It was a great way to celebrate the 4th!

YMCA Family day

There are reasons I work for the YMCA and if you would see my paycheck you would know it's not for the money. But, there are some great perks. Every year they have a YMCA family day at the cardinal stadium and for just a few bucks we all get deck out in red and go see a game. It's always a great time getting to support our local team and eating the wonderfully overpriced ballpark food, but who can turn down funnel cake, cotton candy, popcorn etc.

Benjamin had a great birthday. I tried to keep it simple by taking the neighborhood gang to an afternoon at Chuck-e-cheese, (now I am not so sure how simple 6 six kids to one adult at chuck-e-cheese really is?) then we came home to do all the cake and presents fanfare. My good friend Marci came by on her way through to Indy. We got to spend a whole day together with just us and our two little girls. They just loved each other and when they both asked for matching hats and purses at the Children's Place outlet we couldn't say no. He Did It!

I wasn't quiet sure at the beginning of the year if we would make it through to the end but, he did it! He managed to behave himself, learned how to do his work when he was supposed to and even learned how to tolerate numerous coloring projects. Overall I was very happy with how his year turned out. Here he is accepting his "diploma" and award for the year. I think it fits him quite well.

Mother's Day Weekend

Due to a wonderfully discounted employee weekend, our family got to spend a few days at Trout Lodge. It is a camping lodge about an hour south by lake of the Ozarks. Although most would say it was technically not camping it was definitely my kind of camping. We got to hike, horseback ride, do archery, rock climb, boat, bike, and even enjoy s'mores and I still got to sleep in a warm bed at night, and didn't have to cook my meals over a fire. It was great fun. The only set back was that the weather could have been a bit warmer. The kids weren't able to enjoy the nice beach front lake. Oh well maybe next time.

About once a month the kids school has a hat day. The kids can pay $1 to wear a hat to school. I would assume you would want to wear a baseball cap or something of that sort. But , not my son (who by the way still wants to be a cowboy when he grows up) No my son runs down stairs excitedly to grab this! His beat up black dress up cowboy hat that he has had since he was two. My first instinct is to tell him no and to go and pick out an appropriate and not quite so goofy baseball cap from his room But then I ask my self does it really matter, should I make him conform. So, I said to myself LET HIS FREAK FLAG FLY, if he wants to wear a cowboy hat let him.

Wow I can't believe how time flies, Samantha was so excited about turning 8 this year! Because it is a special year she got to have a BIG birthday party at a location. We decided to have it our YMCA it has a great room with a rock wall, a party room and then a Gymnastics center with extra long trampoline and all. We ended up with 12 kids plus mine and boy was I glad they weren't all at my house! I think Samantha had a great time. ( oh yea, because they were mingling with other kids at the YMCA I made them all wear bright yellow bandanna's so I could keep track of them all)

Over the past year or so, I have been hanging around a lot with my Good friend Jenni. Pretty much anytime we both have a free day we are getting together to scrapbook, sew (did I actually do any of the sowing?) or taking the kids some where. Jenni has a little girl named Leigh that is about a year younger than Olivia. Because of the age difference they don't always play together but, they both get really excited to see each other!! The other day Olivia was asking where we were going today. I told her that we had play group and we would be going to play with her friends. Easter Morning

The kids thought it was great hunting for their Easter baskets. They all loved the new bunnies.

I couldn't find anything in the stores that I was in love with so I decided to make them my self the a lot of help from my good friend Jenni who sews all the time. Although there were some bumps and ripping out of stitches along the way I am really happy with how they turned out.

Last Saturday morning I was in the middle of rushing around the house trying to get done all those things I always need to get done. A little dishes, a little laundry, etc. I was also getting the kids ready for the day. We had a full day planned starting off with a big Easter egg hunt on the Saint Louis University campus. It was during the big rush that I got a call from the Bishopric. As many of you know there has been a lot of flooding going on in our area. The Meramac river which runs through our ward was now at 30ft above flood stage and going to crest later that evening. They said that a group of member were going to go sand bag at some houses in major flood danger. I said okay and hung up the phone. My first response was that I had a lot of plans for the day and didn't really have time. You know I didn't want to disappoint the kids. The more I went about my business the more I felt I needed to do something. I told Jeremy about the phone call and asked his opinion. We decided to discuss the situation with the kids. Samantha was the first to respond with a definite YES we should go help. Benjamin said he knew we should go help but he wasn't happy about it. After agreeing to hold an egg hunt at our house later he was on board. So we went. We decided to drop off Olivia at a friends house, but took the others with us. We worked the morning filling carrying, and stacking sand bags. It was hard work but, it was exhilarating at the same time! Samantha was a real trooper holding all the bags open while Jeremy filled and tied. She worked so hard she was interviewed by two different reporters one even filmed her as the youngest sand bagger. Benj stuck by me "helping me" carry sandbags back and forth. They both worked hard all morning and said they felt so happy they could help these families. All in all, I think it won't be an Easter weekend they will forget soon. I am so glad we had the opportunity to celebrate Easter the way Christ would have wanted.

Okay so, I have never been a big gamer. I haven't felt the need to invest in the latest expensive video game systems I have felt they are just too sedentary and addictive to both my husband and my kids until I discovered the Wii. We spent the weekend at my friends house and got to try out their wii that they had just got for Christmas. After hours of tennis, darts, baseball, bowling, and getting to knock out my husband in boxing, I was hooked. We decided we would spend some gifted Christmas money(thanks mom& papa) on a Wii for our family. I can't say enough about this interactive exciting game systems. It has great games that the whole family can play and it even gets us all up and moving. I think I have even broken a sweat playing a challenging round of tennis. For anyone contemplating it. I would say go for it! It's worth it!

Samantha and I found it at Target and thought Benjamin just had to have it! I thought it was a steal at 8.50 but, then the store clerk said the only one left was the floor model and they could give me 30% off. I got to be the cool mom for the day and it only cost me $6

I guess my little man had a full day. He went to school this morning and then spent the afternoon at his friends house becuase it was a half day today. He came home and sat down to watch a movie the next thing I know I come in to find this on my couch. I am guessing that at some time he felt hot and rather than take off his coat he decided to unbutton his shirt revealing his all to small undershirt and rather large belly. If only we could all sleep this hard!

High School Musical has taken over!

This is just an example to show how High School Musical has taken over our family. Both movies are big hits! About six months ago I thought it would be fun to for the kids to have the soundtrack. What was I thinking! Ever since it has been the only thing I am allowed to listen to in the car. If I dare put on a station or a cd that I might enjoy, I get a holler from the three year old in the back seat "Hiiii skool moo-zi-kal mom!!!! The sound track also came with a Karaoke version that they all jam out to in the living room. Remember as you watch that Olivia is only 3 years old and although she is looking at the words she can't read this is all memorization.

I realize the picture is a little dark, I am still trying to figure out the new camera and 3 year olds don't do retakes!

Olivia's preschool has been planning this for weeks.

I pre-paid.

We were so excited we were going to see Santa.

I got Olivia up and dressed her in her best Christmas outfit.

We went to the Oakland house a historical home which hosts Santa every year.

We watched a puppet show and heard a story all about Santa.

We even ate cookies with Mrs. Clause.

All this for our picture perfect moment.

Okay so she wasn't so sure about the big red guy and, I guess mom was a little more excited then she was. To her defense she wasn't feeling well and I didn't know that. She fell asleep in the car on the way home (@ 10:30) and spent the rest of the day in bed. Oh well I still think it's a great picture!

Happy ThanksgivingI know it's a little late to be posting this but, it really was a wonderful Thanksgiving. Aunt Tara flew out from Salt Lake to spend a week with me and the kids. On Thanksgiving Aubry came to visit, she brought along those two others that live with her. LOL. All in all it was a day filled with family and enough food to feed a small army. But hey, that's what Thanksgiving is all about!

Halloween

~Happy Halloween~

Wow, I can't believe October is already over. Between Soccer, and all the fall activities the month just flew by. The kids were so excited about Halloween coming up! Here is a picture of them right before our Wards big Halloween Carnival. Benjamin finally got to be Super man (thanks to grandma and papa)
Yes this next picture is still the same month and year. Uncle Clay found out about our up coming trip and wanted to get the kids excited about it. So, he practically bought out the Disney store and sent the kids tons of fun toys which also included new costumes for each of them. They wore them every minute they could for the next few days!
This was the end result on Halloween night with Samantha now as Tinkerbell, Benjamin as Superman, and Olivia as Pocahontas! I have now discovered that with three kids trick-or-treating you get more candy then you know what to do with.

Tomorrow we leave at the crack of dawn for our Disney trip and the kids don't even know it yet. Heee Hee Heee I can't wait to see the looks on their faces!

1. What was I doing 10 years ago? Jeremy an I were still in the midst of Euphoria having only been married 6 months. I had a fun new job that made me realize I love working with the little children. I lived just a few blocks away from my sister and was loving our developing friendship. Jeremy was also in the middle of interviewing for the second time to various med schools and we were hopping and praying he would get in somewhere! Little did I know ten years later we would still be plugging along.
2. What was I doing 5 years ago?
We had made it through Med School and were still getting settled in to our home in Indianapolis. Although the job didn't work out too well for Jeremy, I met a few darling women some of which I will never forget and hopefully never lose touch with.
3. What was I doing a year ago?
I was plugging along being a stay-at-home mom realizing it was one of the first times I didn't have any outside job. I was also enjoying my new membership at the YMCA
4. What was I doing yesterday?
I was forcing myself to stay home and get things done! Can anyone say laundry, dishes, bathrooms, floors? does it ever end?

The difference between boys and girls!

Samantha my oldest has now lost about 8 teeth. I know every time she is going to loose one. It seems like she wiggles it for weeks letting me know everyday that she has a loose tooth. It usually ends up hanging by a thread and me having to pull it out while she bawls. That is my daughter.

Benjamin on the other hand just lost his first tooth. It went like this. We are driving in the car going to church last Sunday.
Benjamin says, nonchalantly," Mom I just pulled a tooth out of my mouth."
"What?" I say , not truly believing him.
" I just pulled a tooth out of my mouth"
Sure enough I look back and see a ring of blood around his mouth he opens wide an there is a nice little gap in his lower front teeth.
"Where is the tooth " I asked
"I don't know I think it fell somewhere"
I couldn't believe it, I didn't even know he had a loose tooth and there he sat with blood dripping out of his mouth. We scramble to find a clean napkin to hand him and keep driving to church where we try and clean him up as we head into sacrament meeting and go on with the rest of our day.

There is definitely a difference between girls and boy, well at least mine!

Can a lie be a good choice?

So they say it's never good to lie to your kids but, sometimes I feel it can be the best for everyone involved. Tonight Jeremy and I were talking to Benjamin in his feeble attempts at stalling before bed time. Jeremy was telling him how special he was that he was our only boy. We told him he would get to carry the Timothy name on and have a whole family of Timothys. He seemed pleased with the idea and then asked "so, I have to find a girl whose name is Timothy?" No, we explained the girl will change her name. "Oh good" he said " I can marry anyone I fall in love with." Of course, we replied (here is where the lie comes in) He then asks " Then I get to show her my private spots!" No! I replied go to bed (a little tired of the stalling) Jeremy told me I shouldn't lie to the boy he had the right idea. My thinking is that I am afraid, (despite our best efforts) he is a bit of an exhibitionist, and he talks all the time about his new best friend MINA ( eyes batting). I was afraid if I told him the truth things could turn out badly. What do you think?

Preschool!!!

Olivia was so excited for her first day of preschool! She was feeling so left out ever since Samantha and Benjamin started school. She loved playing with all her new friends and feeling like a big girl. She was a little disappointed that she doesn't get to ride the big school bus.

10 Things I SPLURGE on..(only 10.. in no particular order)
I am not sure about this one because you actually have to have money in order to splurge!!!

1.Can I say kids kids kids ( they really take up most of my splurges)
2. Holidays and Birthdays. I always try to make them special
3. Activities for my kids, ex ballet, soccer, baseball, gymnastics, etc!!!
4. This summer my big splurge was a membership to local rec center outdoor pool. We spent most of our afternoons fighting the heat at the pool!!! i loved it so much I am considering getting rid of the white trash monstrosity that is our backyard pool (if you could call it that)
5.Family activities (anything that get us out of the house)
6. My treadmill ( bought it a year ago and am still loving it, and (amazingly enough) using it!
7 fast food trips my (i don't want to have to think about dinner)de-stresser
8. Netflix, it helps since we don't splurge on cable.
9. Occasional date nights

10 things I save on.....
yet again I think you have to have money in order to save it but, I am a real cheapskate so it shouldn't be too hard.
1. This year I will be saving some money on Kids activities. I am now officially an employee of the YMCA. I don't make much money but it does come with a 25% discount on all classes.
2. Picnic lunches, everywhere we go I pack a lunch, save money on all that over priced zoo, museum, etc food.
3. Presents for kids, If it's too expensive, just ask Grandma and Papa!
4. Food, groceries, I work on a tight budget, menu, and only shop at discount stores. I am not above bagging my own groceries.
5. Clothes for my kids, both grandma's do a great job with this!
6. Cheep theater only, it's worth the wait to save $5 at ticket and I still don't have to pay for Olivia!
7. No Cable
8.Have you seen our cars, definitely not a splurge!
9. Gym membership free now that I am an employee!
10. No Cell Phones, ( well I have one but I'm on my Parent's family plan)

And they are off. Off to the first day of school and boy are we excited.(at least mom is) It has been a great Summer filled with mornings at the Y, afternoons at the pool, and weekly field trips to the library, science center. etc. We have had a lot of fun but, I was getting worn out. You forget, during the school year, how hard it is when all the kids are home all the time. I am looking forward to my one-on-one time with Olivia. And the kids are excited to meet new friends. Check out our cool new clothes and haircuts!

Where does the time go? How is it that they grow up so fast? Olivia just celebrated her 3rd birthday so, I guess I can no longer say I have a baby anymore. No more diapers, wipes, bottles, bibs, or even sippy cups. It seems so strange, I realize we are starting on a new phase in our life. Instead of juggling, bags,, bottles and strollers, I am now becoming the car pool mom filled with a life running kids from one activity to the next. Here are some pictures of my now big girl celebrating her Curious George birthday. I had to through in a picture of the cake because I am pretty proud of it.

Because Samantha was in baseball this year through the YMCA we had the opportunity to take the gang to a Cardinal baseball game. The kids got to march in a parade around the field and then they both got free tickets in. We all had a great time watching the game and checking out the new stadium. GO CARDINALS!

Our First Family Campout

Okay, So I wouldn't say it was what you would call ruffing it. But, after sleeping on the ground for one night I am not too sure we are quiet the ruffing it types. We spent our first camping experience at a YMCA family camp. It was cheating on my part. All we had to do is bring our tent and sleeping bags and they provided the rest. It turned out to be a very relaxing weekend filled with crafts, hiking, hunting down frogs and lizards in the creek, and lots of good food. Olivia got to try s'mores for the first time.

Grandma and Grandpa are here!!! Grandma and Grandpa Timothy were only here for a week but boy, did we have a great time. The highlight of the visit was our little trip to Navoo with the great addition of Aunt Janae as well we packed up two cars and headed out. The kids loved it! They enjoyed the shops, the musicals, and they especially loved dressing up like the pioneers and playing pioneer games. Samantha said that she wished we could move there. Navoo has grown so much, we were there three days and two nights and we still felt like we could have used some more time. I guess this means we will have to go back sometime.
